About me:

Kate Ikauniece, clinical and health psychologist

I believe every person has inner resources for change. My work is to help you find them.

How I got here…

I have always been curious about how our thoughts and feelings affect our health.

For me, psychology is a way of understanding people — their behaviour, emotions, ways of thinking and relationships with others. Health psychology is especially close to my heart: how we adapt to illness, stress and changes in our bodies and lives.

[Experience: where Kate has worked or works, how many years she has been counselling, which situations she works with most.]

At my practice on Elizabetes iela I have created a room that feels calm and safe — so there is space for the conversation.

How I work:

My approach

Safety and confidentiality

What you share stays between us. You can speak openly here, without judgement.

Evidence-based approach

I use methods supported by research: [e.g. elements of cognitive behavioural therapy].

Your pace

There is no right or wrong way to feel. We move forward at a pace that works for you.

Psychoeducation and events:

I talk about mental health outside the counselling room too

I give talks and workshops on psychology and mental health, take part in events and speak about the psychologist’s profession. On Instagram I share short, clear explanations — such as what a psychologist does and what happens at the first visit.
